Gong alternatives for Salesforce teams: pick by what you’re trying to fix
Disclosure: we make EverReady, one of the alternatives below. Where another tool is the better answer, we say so.
Six reasons teams leave Gong, and the alternative that fits each one. Select a situation to jump to it.
The rest of this page walks through each situation: what to pick, what you gain, and what you give up compared with Gong.
First, what Gong does well
Be honest about why you bought it. If these are the reasons you bought Gong and you still use them, the alternatives below will feel like a step down.
Trackers, scorecards, talk-ratio benchmarks and AI role-play, among the deepest on the market.
Sequencing and a dialer on the same contract as conversation intelligence.
Support for more than one CRM, for teams that do not run on Salesforce alone.
Transcription with automatic language detection for teams selling across regions.
If you bought Gong for recording, notes and CRM updates, keep reading.
You pay for seats nobody uses
Three reps record 30 hours a month. Twenty others record a handful. Every seat costs the same, plus the platform fee. CSMs, AMs and SDRs are not recorded at all, because nobody wants to buy them a seat.
Gong’s coaching suite and Engage. EverReady focuses on recording, summaries and keeping Salesforce complete.
EverReady charges per meeting hour: one pool of hours shared by the whole company, no per-seat license, nothing billed while people are on holiday. Light users cost only the hours they record.
Divide your annual Gong bill by the hours your team actually recorded. That is your real cost per hour.
How much would you save with EverReady? →Your call data lives outside Salesforce
Reps log into Gong to find a call. Admins maintain a sync that pushes a handful of fields back. Dashboards in Salesforce never show what was said on calls.
A separate analytics workspace. For teams that want insights where the records are, that is the point.
EverReady installs as a managed package: recordings, transcripts and summaries sit on the Account, Contact and Opportunity, and AI agents propose updates to MEDDPICC®, MEDDIC, SPICED or BANT fields that reps approve. If your Salesforce edition already includes Einstein Conversation Insights, look at it first.
EverReady vs Gong, in detail →You still need coaching at Gong’s level
Your managers run weekly call reviews, use scorecards and track objection handling. Coaching is the reason Gong exists for you, but the price or the contract pushed you to look around.
Little on coaching. You keep a separate platform and per-seat pricing, and you may need the vendor’s wider bundle (Clari for forecasting, ZoomInfo for data) to get the best price.
Clari Copilot (formerly Wingman) and Chorus by ZoomInfo both offer recording, scoring, battlecards and coaching close to Gong’s. Both sync to Salesforce rather than running inside it.
EverReady vs Clari →Your team runs in Slack
Deal reviews happen in Slack threads. Managers want alerts when a deal stalls, not another dashboard.
Deep call analytics and coaching. Momentum is about workflow, not conversation intelligence.
Momentum, now part of Salesforce, captures deal data from meetings and pushes it into Salesforce and Slack, with deal rooms, alerts and approval workflows.
EverReady vs Momentum →You need a corporate secure solution
Your CISO, DPO or legal team wants to know where recordings are stored, which AI processes them, how long data is kept, and whether it trains anyone’s models. Gong keeps recordings and intelligence in its own cloud, in the US by default, and processes them in the US and Israel.
Nothing on the product side. You keep control of your data at every step, and security reviews get shorter.
Recordings are stored on your own S3 bucket, not in a vendor’s cloud. You choose the AI models, or plug in your own LLM, alongside your Salesforce AI credits or EverReady’s EU-hosted service. Data is deleted right after processing and never used to train models. EverReady is ISO 27001 certified and processes in the EU. For every other alternative, ask in writing where recordings are stored, which models process them and how long data is kept.
You only use recording and notes
You renewed Gong twice and nobody opened a scorecard. Reps use it to replay calls and copy the summary.
Everything Gong does beyond notes, which, in this situation, you were not using.
Fireflies has a free tier and Salesforce sync on paid plans. Avoma adds light coaching at mid-market prices. Fathom is free for individuals. If you also want those notes to land on Salesforce records and fill qualification fields, that is EverReady’s territory.
Compare 8 AI notetakers for Salesforce →The decision table
Your reason for leaving Gong decides the shortlist. Each row shows what you gain compared with Gong, and what you give up.
| Your situation | Shortlist | What you gain vs Gong | What you give up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seats nobody uses | EverReady | Pay per meeting hour, whole team covered | Coaching suite, Engage |
| Data outside Salesforce | EverReady, Einstein Conversation Insights | Calls and fields on Salesforce records | Separate analytics workspace |
| Coaching still essential | Clari Copilot, Chorus by ZoomInfo | Lower price, same category | Possibly tied to a wider bundle |
| Team runs in Slack | Momentum | Deal alerts and workflows in Slack | Call analytics depth |
| Corporate security | EverReady; others on request | Recordings on your own S3, your choice of models or your own LLM, data deleted after processing | Nothing on the product side |
| Recording and notes only | Fireflies, Avoma, Fathom | A fraction of the cost | Everything beyond notes |

What you actually lose when you leave Gong
Most alternative pages skip this part. Here is the honest list.
- Coaching at scale
Trackers, scorecards, talk-ratio benchmarks and AI role-play. Only Clari Copilot and Chorus come close.
- Gong Engage
Sequencing, dialer and phone-call capture on the same contract. None of the notetakers above replace it. If you use Engage, budget for a separate engagement tool.
- Multi-CRM reporting
If you run Salesforce and HubSpot side by side, a Salesforce-native tool like EverReady covers only one of them.
- 70+ languages
Automatic detection across 70+ languages. Check language support for every alternative if your team sells across regions.
- Your Gong history
Access to recordings and intelligence ends with the subscription. Export what you want to keep before you cancel.
If two or more of these matter to you, renegotiate Gong instead of leaving it. If none do, you are paying for a suite to get a notetaker.
The 90-day Gong renewal playbook
Gong contracts are annual. Whatever you decide, start three months before the renewal date.
- Day 90Pull the numbers
Annual bill, seats, hours recorded per user from Gong’s usage report, and which features each team actually opens. Most of the decision is in this data.
- Day 75Name your situation
Match it to one of the six above. Shortlist two alternatives at most.
- Day 60Run a live pilot
Record the same calls with Gong and the alternative for 30 days. Compare transcript quality, what lands in Salesforce, and what reps open without being asked.
- Day 30Negotiate
Go to Gong with the pilot results and a real alternative. If you stay, you will pay less. If you leave, you will know why.
- Day 15Export
Download the recordings and summaries you want to keep. Check that the fields you rely on are already in Salesforce.
Keep Gong for your heaviest users and cover everyone else with a usage-based tool. You get full coverage now and usage data for the next renewal. Estimate what that would cost.
